Flower Wedding Invitations

We’ve been working really hard this last week to get a new range of stationery on the site. Do take a look and let us know your comments. It is a really fresh range of beautiful flower photographs. All of the invitations have matching items so all of your wedding stationery can be co-ordinated. And the best thing is that they are really cheap and that’s something you don’t hear often in the wedding market!

Our diary for this year is rapidly filling up so do let us know if you would like any wedding invitation samples to be sure of getting your stationery in plenty of time.

Any comments on the new range would be really appreciated.

Until next time

Snow Themed Wedding Favours

I hope that you have all been keeping warm this week in the snowy weather. Our delivery driver had a terrible day on Monday with snowy tracks to overcome with every delivery. He looked very fed up by the time he arrived at our office after 4pm. Our office is in a hilly Lancashire town and the views were wonderful this week. For those of us who didn’t have to travel anywhere is has been a beautiful week.

We have a few brides getting married this weekend and providing they make it to the ceremony without too much disruption they will be set for a wonderful day. The snowy themed wedding favours they have brought from us will really sparkle with the weather like this. The mini lanterns have proved to be really popular at this time of year. http://www.verbenastationery.co.uk/index.php?cmd=9&pr=331 So, good luck to those of you getting married this weekend. Stay warm! Until next time Kate

Wedding Trends for 2009

Now that we are into 2009 it is time to look at what the wedding trends will be for the year. ‘The Knot’ has released today the latest trends that are appearing from the US which are often reflected in the UK.

So, here are a few ideas to be ‘on trend’ for your 2009 wedding:

More and more couple are having environmentally friendly weddings. Sourcing local ingredients, buying second hand and making things themselves. There are loads of ideas for ‘green’ weddings at http://www.ethicalweddings.com/

Pastel and bright colours are being replaced by richer, navy, plum, bronze and black.

Cakes are back to a more traditional style. Two-tiered cakes are replacing cupcakes and cookies.

Patterns are being used a lot more. Spotty bridesmaid dresses, gingham table runners and patterned invitations are all making a splash. We are seeing our patterned, unique wedding invitations becoming more and more popular.

Traditional vase centrepieces are being replaced by vintage vessels. Beautiful jugs and teacups are appearing filled with locally sourced flowers.

Couples are being more creative with lighting. Wedding candles are being used to create atmosphere and also as gifts. And creative lighting companies are being brought in to create visual effects.

UK honeymoons are becoming popular. With the current value of the pound couples are choosing to save money and honeymoon in the UK. http://www.forbetterforworse.co.uk/honeymoon.htm have some great ideas.

So, be inspired for 2009 with the current trends but don’t forget to create a day that is unique and special to you.

Until next time,

Kate

Ideas for Wedding Table Decorations

We are often being asked for ideas for wedding table decorations that are slightly more unusual but cost effective.

One of the most effective and inexpensive wedding table decoration is using co-ordinating paper flower petals. There are some beautiful colours available and when they are co-ordinated with your colour scheme they look really effective. They also look great placed in a vase and used as a table centrepiece.

Placecard holders are a great way of combining table decorations, placecards and favours in one! If you hunt around on the internet there are lots of unusual placecard holders to be found at a reasonable price. Make sure that your guests know that they can take them away with them to hold notes or photographs. Guests really appreciate a useful favour to take away with them.

Don’t just leave crackers for Christmas. Crackers make people smile at anytime of year and look stunning as part of your table settings. These days they don’t just come in Christmasy themes and colours, you can pick up modern, colourful designs that suit anytime of year.

Scatter foil wrapped chocolates around the table for guests to help themselves to. Foil wrapped heart shaped chocolates come in a huge array of colours. If you co-ordinate them with your colour scheme they will look fabulous as part of your decorations. And if you decide to use these as your favours you will save a considerable amount.

I will keep thinking of more ideas for wedding table decorations and publish them in the next few weeks.
